Building WSH capabilities via the WSHP WSQ Framework
The Workplace Safety and Health Professionals Workforce Skills Qualifications Framework (or WSHP WSQ Framework in short) was developed jointly by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) in 2007 to equip WSH Professionals with the relevant technical competencies to build WSH capabilities in Singapore.
Purpose
The purpose of the WSHP WSQ framework is to equip WSH professionals with the relevant competencies to perform their jobs effectively.
Feature
There are 4 levels in the WSHP WSQ framework. Each level is designed to equip individuals entering the WSH Profession with the relevant technical competencies to build up the WSH capabilities in Singapore.
Level A
The CWSH is one of the four qualifications under the WSH Professionals WSQ framework and serves as the entry point for individuals with minimal WSH knowledge and experience looking to build careers as WSH professionals.
Level B
The WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (ACWSH) qualification is designed for individuals who are keen to join the Workplace Safety and Health profession as a WSH Coordinator. The ACWSH is the 2nd of the four qualifications under the WSH Professionals WSQ framework and is a the minimum qualification for employment as a WSH Coordinator under the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
Level C
The WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (SDWSH) qualification is designed for individuals who are keen to join the Workplace Safety and Health profession as WSH Officers. The SDWSH is the 3rd of the four qualifications under the WSH Professionals WSQ framework and is the minimum qualification for registration as a WSH Officer under the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
Level D
The WSQ Graduate Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (GCWSH) qualification is designed for individuals who are keen to join the Workplace Safety and Health profession as WSH Auditors. The GCWSH is the 4th of the four qualifications under the WSH Professionals WSQ framework and is the minimum qualification recognized for registration as a WSH Auditor under the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
