There has been a trend of amputations occurring once every three days within the manufacturing, construction and marine sectors. As such, the prevention of hand injuries continues to be an area of focus for workplace safety and health (WSH).

Losing a finger, a hand or any part of your body is detrimental, and severely impacts the livelihoods of workers.

Opening of Safe Hands Campaign 2021
In collaboration with the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), the WSH Council has kickstarted the Safe Hands Campaign 2021 and SISO strongly support this campaign. This year’s campaign continues to raise awareness of machinery safety, and the preventive measures that can be put in place by the industry. It also serves as a reminder to everyone on the importance of protecting our hands while at work. While we work amidst the new normal, we must not forget that WSH remains an important pillar in every workplace.
